Children

Below are some opportunities for volunteering with children. If you have any questions or are aware of any other opportunities e-mail me and we can go from there. Again, feel free to comment below on any experiences you’ve had.

EMMAUS HOUSE COMMUNITY ART PROJECT
Emmaus House Community Art Project works with children from inner city Atlanta on Saturday mornings. They have incredible art facilities and work with children to explore and develop gifts. They are always interested in volunteers on Saturday mornings.

HAGAR’S HOUSE
Hagar’s House is part of Decatur Cooperative Ministry and is a homeless shelter for women and children. If you enjoying reading stories, playing basketball, eating in community, and talking with folks, Hagar’s House is the place for you.

OUR HOUSE
Our House is a child development center for young children whose families are homeless. They are located directly across Kirk Road behind Columbia Presbyterian Church. This is a wonderful place to spend time in a nursery, work with children in a classroom or play with them on the playground. It is also possible to get Federal Work Study for working/volunteering at Our House.

STEWART CENTER
The Stewart Center is a neighborhood community center that aims to be a safe place for its neighbors. They are constantly in need of volunteers to help with their homework hour weekday afternoons.
